LAS VEGAS (KSNV – The Clark County School District Police Department said this morning that a student at O’Callaghan Middle School suffered a medical episode during a fight, and the altercation was not a bullying incident.

CCSD police say there was a fight that involved two middle school aged girls. However, the fight on April 2 with not as severe as first reported -- it lasted less than a minute, and there were school officials there to break it up.

Police say this fight was not a case of bullying, but between mutual combatants who have had an ongoing strained relationship on and off campus.

Police say the girls, ages 12 and 13, got into a physical altercation that involved punching and pushing, but nobody was bludgeoned or severely beaten.

Police say the 13-year-old girl had a medical emergency during the fight, and that is what put her into the hospital. Whether it was triggered by the fight still has yet to be determined

Neither girl received any major injuries resulting from the fight.
