LAS VEGAS -- Tomorrow is Flag Day and everyone is encouraged to turn in any American flags that need to be retired.

All Palm Mortuary locations in southern Nevada are collecting worn, torn, faded and soiled American flags to retire ceremoniously in honor of Flag Day, June 14. The public is invited to donate their damaged flags for formal retirement.

Honoring the symbol of America's courage and strength, Palm's ceremonious flag retirement is in keeping with the honor and dignity sanctioned by US Code Title 36, Chapter 10, Section 176:

The Flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

Donation is simple and accessible. Flags ready to be retired can be dropped off at any Palm Mortuary location through June 14.
