LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Thanks to the generosity of Las Vegans, the Fill the Bus Drive held today has been a rousing success.
The bus to be filled with school supplies was so full by noon that a second bus had to be brought in to contain the donations, and at last report it was nearly full as the drive neared its close Monday evening.
Exotics Racing stopped by with a Mini Cooper stuffed full of supplies and Roseman University made multiple trips to unload 100 backpacks filled with materials.
With many students in the valley not able to afford back-to-school supplies, and the Fill the Bus drive was helping this morning.
Communities and Schools of Nevada, a high school dropout prevention program, said the Fill the Bus campaign is designed to provide to students in need at low-income, high-risk schools with basic supplies such as notebooks and pencils.
Some of the students don’t even have the money to eat regular meals.
The drive took place at the Sam’s Club parking lot at Arroyo Crossing Shopping Center 7100 W. Arroyo Crossing Pkwy. (Near 215 & Rainbow).For more information on the drive, click here.
