The Southern Nevada Water Authority reminds residents and businesses that the fall watering schedule is now in effect through Oct. 31.
The seasonal schedule limits both turf and drip irrigation to three specific days per week, according to each customer’s assigned watering group. Watering days for residents and businesses in watering groups A, C and E are Monday, Wednesday and Friday; those in watering groups B, D and F may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Sprinkler watering is prohibited on Sunday.
Time-of-day watering restrictions also are in effect until Oct. 1, meaning that sprinkler watering is prohibited from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sprinkler watering during restricted hours or on days other than those assigned to your group is considered water waste, which may result in a water-waste fee.
If you notice dry spots in your landscape, the SNWA recommends hand-watering areas, which is allowed any time. The SNWA also suggests spacing watering times one hour apart to avoid wasteful runoff and allow the water to absorb into the soil.
