HENDERSON, Nev. -- Henderson Police officers busted six busineses for selling alcohol to minor while conducting checks of underage alcohol compliance at bars and restaurants over the weekend.

Officers from the Community Relations Unit, with the assistance of underage volunteers, checked 65 bars, restaurants and other establishments where purchased alcoholic beverages were consumed onsite throughout the city of Henderson Saturday night and early Sunday.

Of the 65 establishments, 59 did not sell alcohol to the underage person. However, six businesses did sell alcohol to the minors.

Included in the 65 businesses checked were 15 establishments which failed an alcohol compliance check in April. Of those 15 establishments, five failed again this weekend.

The business that failed for the first time was:
  • Buffalo Wild Wings, 617 Mall Ring Circle
The businesses that failed a second time were:
  • Black Mountain Grill, 11021 S. Eastern Avenue
  • Eldorado Casino, 140 S. Water Street
  • Gold Mine Tavern, 23 S. Water Street
  • PT’s Gold, 2890 Bicentennial Parkway
  • Sunset and Vines, 40 Costa di Lago
The clerks were subject to a citation for serving an underage person and face a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.

The owners or managers of a business that fails a second or third time can also be issued a citation and could face the revocation of their business license. Businesses that fail an alcohol compliance check generally are rechecked at some time in the future.

In conjunction with the federal Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws grant, the Henderson Police Department will continue its effort to reduce juvenile alcohol-related crimes and alcohol abuse by minors with this ongoing program of monitoring the liquor-selling establishments within the community.
