LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Christmas Day here in the valley means sunshine and temperatures in the 60s.

Locals and visitors don't have to go far to get that picture postcard of a holiday.

On Mount Charleston, it's a Winter Wonderland and many chose to spend December 25 in the snow.

Southern Nevadans dreaming of a White Christmas got their wish today. Families spent the day up here in Mount Charleston playing in the snow.

Pine trees line the snow-covered hills of Mount Charleston as families venture out to celebrate Christmas on the mountain.

It's 3-year-old Danny Druckman's first time in the snow. After a tough climb up the slippery slope, Danny slides down the hill with his dad.

“It was fun. It was good. I've lived in places where it snows so I have to admit I do miss the snow a little bit,” said Danny’s father Ian Druckman.

For hundreds of families, Christmas at Mount Charleston is an annual tradition.

“We have some people that have been coming up 20 years with their families,” said Thomas Schneekloth, the general manager of the lodge.
