LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The partial government shutdown prompted several Centennial High School Navy Junior ROTC cadets to protest and seek donations with a car wash.

Charlie Company of the Navy ROTC gathered at North Buffalo and West Washington Saturday morning to let people know the shutdown is causing problems with their funding.

The government usually funds uniforms for the Navy JROTC members and pays some of the way for competitions and entry in parades.

Cadets said the program is in no way being threatened by the shutdown, just that they're losing some funding.

The company is having another fundraiser at the same location in March.

People can donate by visiting their website, to donate over the phone.
