LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- About 80 firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire in a strip mall store in the northeast valley this morning.

Clark County and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue firefighters responded about 5:45 a.m. to 3310 S. Nellis Blvd. They found heavy smoke coming from the roof.

A second alarm was called because of the type of construction and danger that the fire could travel quickly to adjoining units.

The fire was located in the ceiling of the beauty supply store and was extinguished. The charged smoke extended to adjoining suites.

No injuries were reported as the stores were unoccupied at the time.

Twenty-three units responded with approximately 80 personnel.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the dollar loss has not been determined.
