Hiker found uninjured after missing overnight on mountain

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Metro police have confirmed that a missing 45-year-old woman hiker who had been missing overnight has been found safe in the Mt. Charleston area.

News 3 reporter Tom Hawley reported that Carmen Torres went hiking early Saturday and went missing sometime during the day. She was officially declared missing Saturday evening.

"She was found on the Nye County side of the mountain about 11:30 a.m. today," Metro Lt. Jack Owen said. "We started searching about 7 last night and went until 1 in the morning. We then started again early today."

A News 3 photographer who just arrived on the scene was told that an ATV driver found the woman and she was uninjured.

Red Rock Search & Rescue was also involved in the search.
