LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- A Clark County Family Court judge who has had a string of legal troubles and ethical issues is set to appear in court today.

Judge Steven Jones has been accused of fraud, money laundering, and domestic abuse in the past – and now the State Judicial Disciplinary Commission in charge of overseeing the judicial system and its judges wants to hold him accountable for overseeing cases that involved his girlfriend.

The woman allegedly involved with Jones was former Deputy District Attorney Lisa Willardson, who represented the county in cases that Judge Jones presided over. Jones is accused of not recusing himself from those cases and not disclosing his romantic involvement with Willardson.

The Disciplinary Commission is trying to hold hearings on Jones' conduct, but Jones and his attorney have continually tried to halt the hearings. The Commission is particularly upset that Jones filed unnecessary and lengthy paperwork that would essentially stall the whole process. Jones also asked the Nevada Supreme Court to block the hearings, but they decided the hearings would go forward.

Jones is in court today because his attorney is trying to get an injunction to halt the case even further.
