BOULDER CITY (KSNV – The Clark County coroner’s office has released the identity of a man whose body was recovered Monday from Lake Mead’s Virgin Basin.

Curtis James Ficarrotta, 30, of Las Vegas went missing Sunday. He was reportedly swimming with friends in the Virgin Basin without a lifejacket when he struggled and disappeared underwater.
A thorough grid search was conducted Sunday afternoon in the cove where the victim was last seen but was called off because of high winds.

The National Park Service, Nevada Department of Wildlife and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search and Rescue resumed search operations around 6 a.m. Monday.

Just before 10 a.m. Metro divers located a body and recovered it from the water just before 11 a.m.

Another possible drowning victim, Istvan Tibor Feichtner, 35, of Chicago, remains missing. He was last seen around 4 p.m. Thursday between Painter’s Cove and Castle Reef.
