Mountain Ridge Little League players back in school

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- The Mountain Ridge Little League team is finally back in school and today four team members got a welcome home they'll never forget.

"I thought we might get some pats on the back but not like this," said player Josh Zuehlsdorff.

The youthful boys of summer starting their eighth-grade year and arrived at  Cadwallader Middle School to a heroes welcome.

There was reason to celebrate from this season.

The Las Vegas boys batted their way to fourth place in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

The teams' win streak ended with a 7-5 loss to Chicago's Jackie Robinson West Little League squad in the United States championship game

The Mountain Ridge All-Stars ended their trip with a a 5-0 loss to Japan Sunday morning in the consolation game.

South Korea defeated Chicago 8-4 Sunday in the overall championship game.
