Road construction on Westcliiff in Summerlin starts Friday

LAS VEGAS -- There will be roadway improvements construction with lane restrictions on Westcliff Drive between Cimarron Road and Rainbow Boulevard starting Friday and continuing through the next four weeks.

Motorists are advised to use Washington Avenue or Alta Drive as alternate east-west travel routes.

Work hours generally will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work will consist of a full-width pavement mill and overlay, utility adjustments, replacement of traffic signal equipment and new roadway striping.

The project should restore this section of road to near-new condition and extend its usable life by 15 to 20 years.

Las Vegas Paving Corporation is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project and providing the funding. The estimated cost for this project is $550,000.
