Hatzenpiller and Shane Gouailhardou, 22, were indicted Dec. 18 by a Clark County grand jury for the deaths of David Gouailhardou, 2, Skylar Lafia, 2, and Aryana Lafia, 1.
The indictment says the parents ingested methamphetamine and that action caused the defendants to refuse care or be too impaired to care for the children.
It also stated that the home did not have fire extinguishers or smoke detectors or other fire suppression devices and the home had limited exits and means of escape.
The children died June 15 in a mobile home at Van's Trailer Oasis in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near Lamb Boulevard.
The parents were sleeping when the fire started about 10:20 a.m. The parents escaped, but the children died of smoke inhalation.
A neighbor tried to break a window in the bedroom to rescue the children, but the intense heat and fire forced him to abandon his efforts.
