LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Clark County Commissioners are raising awareness about problem green pools.

Green pools are breeding grounds for mosquitoes that can carry serious diseases including the West Nile virus. Last year, there were eight reported cases of West Nile virus in Clark County, and one person died from the disease.

So far this year, the County is dealing with an increase in green pool cases compared with 2012.

Residents of unincorporated Clark County should report green pools by calling (702) 455-4191 or filing a complaint through the county website.
