LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – Three people suffered injuries this morning after a fire at an apartment complex near Flamingo Road and Maryland Parkway.
According to a Clark County Fire Department news release, crews responded to the French Oaks apartments in the 3800 block of South Maryland Parkway just before 5 a.m. They found heavy fire coming from the balcony of Apartment L10.
Firefighters vertically ventilated the building and knocked it down quickly with attack lines. Search operations were carried out in the affected apartment, and all of the adjacent apartments were evacuated.
Two patients were treated at the scene by Clark County paramedics; one patient suffering from smoke inhalation and was transported to UMC hospital by Clark County Fire Department Rescue 218.
The incident was a two-alarm fire with 52 personnel responding.
The American Red Cross responded for two occupants that were displaced.
Damage was kept to only one apartment, and there was some water damage in the apartment below. Salvage operations were performed in several apartments to minimize damage.
Total damage is estimated at $100,000. The cause remains under investigation.
