LAS VEGAS (KSNV – A doctor accused of sexual assault of a victim older than 60 pleaded not guilty today.

Dr. Mane Shah appeared in court at the Regional Justice Center. He also faces a felony count of attempted sexual assault and two gross misdemeanor counts of open or gross lewdness. His next court date is set for March.

Shah was arrested in late January and indicted in September.
According to a release from the North Las Vegas Police Department, an investigation of Shah began Nov. 2 when a North Vista Hospital official called police on a patient’s behalf to report the crime.
Shah was the victim’s attending physician during her inpatient stay at the hospital, police said.

Shah is a contracted doctor who had admitting privileges at North Vista Hospital, St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Sunrise Hospital and Mountain View Hospital, police said.
