Suspect arrested in double shooting that killed one

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) – A man has been arrested in connection to a double shooting late Tuesday night that left one man dead.

Elias Ramirez-Lopez, 29, was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in the area of 6th Street and Sahara Avenue. He faces charges of murder with deadly weapon, attempt murder with deadly weapon and battery with deadly weapon.

Police say that around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, Metro patrol officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Sahara Avenue to investigate numerous reports of multiple shots being fired. Officers found an adult male in a convenience store parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

A second adult male victim, also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was located inside an apartment in the 2500 block of Lynwood Avenue. That victim, later identified as Jeffrey Craig Hand, 46, was transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center where he died from his injuries.
