LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Friends and family of the man who survived a 150-foot fall on the Strip continue to pray for his recovery.

Charles Schueler, 31, remains in critical condition at UMC. He fell while working on a marquee Wednesday at the MGM Grand Casino. He is employed with Young Electric Sign Company, which has a renovation contract with the MGM Grand.

YESCO Human Resources Director William Ivie said he made the difficult phone call to Schueler's family about the accident.

“When we first got the word, it was a pretty gloomy place,” Ivie said. ”We didn’t really know the status of condition at that time. … It was, in fact, very difficult for his mother and father.”

It appears landscaping broke Schueler's 150-foot fall. Ivie says he'll need to have several surgeries on his back and legs.

Schueler has worked with YESCO for six years.

OSHA continues its investigation into the accident.
