LAS VEGAS (KSNV – Metro officers are investigating a detonation of a pipe bomb this morning near Los Feliz Street and East Lake Mead Boulevard.

The explosion in east Las Vegas before sunrise shook people out of bed about 3:30 this morning. Some people are describe the explosion as a pipe bomb that went off in front of a home near Lake Mead and Los Feliz.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 2200 block of Little River Court. ATF agents told News 3 that it was a possible explosive device. A man at the resident said it was a pipe bomb, and a woman said she had found the device.

No one was hurt in this incident but from the damage, this was mere luck. The device was placed right about here, held down we're sandbags.

Five people inside the house got out OK, but the force blew off part of the garage door and did some damage to one car.

Metro police are still investigating and had a dog out earlier today sniffing through debris.

A man inside the home who did not want to go on camera tells News 3 he believes someone did this on purpose, although he does not know why.
And neighbors tend to agree that this was a targeted attack.

“Somebody must have done something to get them mad without a reason,” said neighbor Rocky Mossett

“That's really scary to intentionally want to hurt those people and randomly bomb on somebody?” said Kathleen Warren, who also lives in the area.

That's the question of the day: Who would do this? If you think you have any information about this incident, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
