LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3) – As another trial centering on O.J. Simpson begins next week in Las Vegas, News 3 looks back at the infamous 1994 homicides that began his legal troubles.

When Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, were found dead in June 1994 at her Brentwood, Calif., home, all eyes focused on the former football great.

The accusations led to what can only be described as bizarre behavior.
Coming Thursday on News 3: Revisiting O.J. Simpson's 2008 trial, with insights from key inside players.

Simpson led police on what has become one of the most famous chases in American history and threatened to take his own life along the way.

Simpson eventually went on trial for the murders in 1994.

The high-drama proceedings went on for more than a year in a Los Angeles courtroom, leading to some very memorable moments.

The jury delivered a not guilty decision in the verdict heard 'round the world.

Simpson greeted the acquittal with a sigh, a hug and lots of smiles while the victims' families wept.

In the end, the California trial created a fervor for all things Simpson.

Trading cards and books were in high demand as one publisher sums up why the murder trial sparked so much interest.

“It combined wealth, fame, love, romantic affection and an American sport figure,” the publisher said.

Ironically, it was Simpson's quest to get some of his own memorabilia back that led to his 2008 conviction in Nevada.

The trial here generated a lot of interest, too. An insider attributes much of the hype to his first trial.

Simpson currently sits in a prison in Lovelock, Nev.
