LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- With the deadline days away, potential medical marijuana business owners in unincorporated areas of the biggest county in Nevada are rushing to finish their license applications.
So far, five different groups have turned in multiple applications to Clark County.
Anyone who wants to own a medical marijuana business needs to meet the deadline, which is quickly approaching. One applicant submitted her paperwork and talked about the process.
Kathy Gillespie is one step closer to opening up a medical marijuana dispensary and a grow facility in Clark County.
She's one of the first few to submit a preliminary review form.
Gillespie is submitting three applications: one for a dispensary, another for cultivation, and the third for production.
She submitted 36 binders in all with lists of partners, financial information and background checks.
The binders also include the name she plans to use for her marijuana business, called Medmen of Nevada.
Her three applications are among the 11 turned in so far.
This is a low number considering original expectations.
