LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A green light was given to more then 60 medical marijuana applicants who are now closer to becoming good to grow.

The Clark County Commission heard from 112 applications for medical marijuana establishments in three licensing categories -- cultivation, production and laboratory. The commission approved 101 applications.

The commission denied five applications and six of the applications were withdrawn or deleted from the agenda at the request of the applicants or property owners.

At the Clark County Commission level each approval came with a unanimous vote but the businesses will now move on to the state, where they hope to seal the deal.

Every business pitched their ideas to commissioners during Tuesday's meeting.

For more than 60 hopeful owners, it was their chance to sell commissioners on the idea of growing or testing marijuana but it really didn’t take much “selling.”

Unlike the approval process for dispensaries nearly two weeks ago, this meeting flew by because there’s no limit on how many of these businesses can open.

Entrepreneurs hoping to open a medical marijuana grow or test facility made their first public pitches today to the Clark County Commission.

Neighborhoods around the valley could soon see a medical marijuana grow facility.

Here is a link to the meeting agenda.
