LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- The city of Las Vegas has decided where medical marijuana businesses can set up shop.
This was a marathon meeting, lasting for nearly 13 hours.
One of those areas will be on Fremont east of 8th Street. These shops will also be allowed on parts of Las Vegas Boulevard along the tourist corridor.
The city pulled back on its original restrictions where medical marijuana shops are allowed.
Councilman Bob Coffin pointed out the new zoning opens up 80 percent more locations in the city.
The council decided the dispensaries do not have to be in stand-alone buildings. This means they can set up in places like strip malls, connecting to other buildings.
