FORT MEYERS, Fla. (WBBH) --A Florida man says he has "freedom again" after receiving a new electric wheelchair.

Back in August, Michael Arnold was stranded in a rain storm after his electric wheelchair failed. A Fort Myers Police officer rushed on scene and pushed Arnold all the way home.

The next day, Teri Muirhead saw his story on television and called police stating she had an electric wheelchair she wanted to donate to Arnold. On Wednesday, police picked up the wheelchair and delivered it.

"There's really nice people still on this earth," said Arnold.

Arnold has been using a manual wheelchair for the past few weeks. He's relieved to have a new chair.

"I'm just very happy. It means freedom again," said Arnold.
