(NBC News) President Obama unveiled a batch of executive orders Tuesday aimed at correcting what he calls "outrageous and inexcusable" behavior at the Veterans Administration.

He did so before one of the country's most powerful veterans group, the American Legion.

President Obama promised to do everything he can to fix problems with veteran care.

At the Legion's national convention in Charlotte, the president announced 19 new executive orders targeted primarily at improving access and health care veterans receive from VA.

The President's speech comes ahead of an Inspector General's report on the VA scandal set for release Wednesday morning.
