(NBC News) It's been three months since bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Now, a picture of the accused bomber is generating a lot of publicity and anger.

The August cover of Rolling Stone magazine has many taking a second look.

It's Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the lone living suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.

The cover has certainly generated publicity for Rolling Stone, but will it generate sales?

Some major retailers including CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid are refusing to stock it on their shelves.

Rolling Stone editors issued a statement, saying their "hearts go out to the victims" and
claiming the cover story about Tsarnaev "falls within the traditions of journalism" and the magazine's "commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage".
