CARSON CITY -- There are just four days left for lawmakers get the job done in Carson City and News 3 is committed to covering all the political happenings.

News 3 is the only station in Las Vegas that had a correspondent up north for the entire session. We’ve added more fire power with News 3 Anchor Jim Snyder is leading our coverage of this final push to get bills passed.

There's still a lot of work to do, and not much time to get it done.

And in that flurry of activity bills can easily slip through the cracks and fall short or get slipped in as amendments to other bills. You have to be on your toes to keep track of it all.

That's why we are here in force and atching the people you elected to represent you and tracking all the action on the bills that could have a direct impact on your life.

Here are a few of them...

If you get complimentary meals from a casino, either as a customer or an employee, you know those have been subject to sales tax for a decade or and the resorts have been fighting against it.

We're tracking a proposal that would end that tax.

The state tax commission approved it yesterday and it still needs approval from both houses.

Medical marijuana patients may get easier access to the drug if a bill the senate passed, passes in the assembly.
This is Sen. Tick Segerblom's bill and he's telling Snyder to expect a committee hearing on that Friday.

And then there's the admissions tax being pushed by assembly speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick. She says she's working on changes right now.

The best guess around here is she will exempt some of the tickets for admission you pay like maybe movie tickets or golf course fees.

We'll let you know when the new language comes out.
