Animal Foundation lowers adoption fees to save a life

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- There is a big push at the Lied Animal Shelter to help save lives. The shelter is at capacity and looking to get hundreds of animals adopted by next week.

This is what the animal foundation calls high intake season. They get a large number of animals being brought in in the spring and summer months.

There are more than 300 adorable animals here at the lied animal shelter in need of forever homes, and if they aren’t adopted out soon they could be euthanized.

The animal foundation is especially pushing pit bull and Chihuahua adoptions and offering discounted adoption fees of just $40 for those two breeds.

Save a life week kicked off on Wednesday and so far hundreds of animals have found new homes. But many more are in need with an average of 110 new animals being brought in every day.

People looking to adopt are encouraged to come out, walk the dogs, pay with them and see if they're a good fit.

The animal shelter is teaming up with Friendly Ford for their Paws for a Cause adoption event on Saturday. so come out and check out some of these animals and receive a free microchip for your pet.
