Boy, 17, found dead in home of apparent gunshot wound

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- A 17-year-old age boy has been found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in a northeast Las Vegas residence.

The Clark County coroner's office has identified the person as 17-year-old Christopher Richard of Las Vegas. The coroner said Saturday afternoon that the cause and manner of death remains under investigation.

Metro said a body was found about 3:50 p.m. Friday in a residence in the 1900 block of Manhattan Drive (near West Vegas and North Tonopah drives) after he had been discovered in a pool of blood.

Medical personal responded to the scene and pronounced the teenager deceased.

Metro homicide detectives conducted a preliminary investigation and said it appears the teenager suffered from an apparent gunshot wound.
