LAS VEGAS -- As many as 60 children from local Boys & Girls Clubs will compete in the second annual McCarran Paper Plane Palooza.
The first Paper Plane Palooza was held in honor of the one-year anniversary of the opening of Terminal 3 and was met with enthusiasm from everyone involved.
The paper airplane folding and flying competition takes place at McCarran International Airport’s Terminal 3, Zero Level, Door 5 on Tuesday, Aug. 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The event lives on as an annual tradition of bringing the airport community and community-at-large together for a day of fun and mentorship before the summer ends.
The kids will be divided into 12 teams, sponsored and coached by members of the airport community, to compete in distance and accuracy contests.
In addition to the competition, participants will enjoy refreshments, take group photos, and receive a new backpack stuffed full of goodies just in time for the new school year.
