OVERTON -- A large brush fire burned about six acres Friday afternoon and threatened several homes, barns and livestock in the Moapa Valley.

The Clark County Fire Department responded at 2:35 p.m. to a large brush fire near 456 White Domes Drive in Overton.

Volunteer Firefighters from Overton, Logandale, Moapa Valley and Bunkerville were first on the scene.

One Clark County engine and a battalion chief responded from town, along with units from the BLM, Forest Service, and two units from the Beaver Dam fire department.

Some units were significantly delayed in their response as a result of construction on Interstate 15.

The fire was declared extinguished at 5:39 p.m., and units remained on scene to look for hot spots.

Clark County fire investigators also responded and said the cause is still under investigation.

There were no injuries reported.
