LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A California man is facing charges in Las Vegas for a violent sexual assault at a Las Vegas Strip resort. Li Zheng is accused of drugging and attacking a woman inside the MGM Grand in December.

The grand jury returned an indictment against Li Zheng Friday morning, charging him with kidnapping, sexual assault, and battery. Bail was set at $500,000.

According to the indictment, the victim was in town celebrating a family member's birthday.

She was having drinks at the MGM Grans when she met Zheng and he handed her a drink that tasted quote, "off."

The victim claims she blacked out and woke up in a hotel room; Zheng is accused of beating, and raping the woman.
