LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- A community rallies to help Aiden Hennagir, a 4-year-old diagnosed with a rare cancer.

Aiden Hennagir spent part of his day shaving heads for a "Shave a Head. Save a Kid" event held at Centennial Toyota.

It benefits Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. The group helped Aiden and his family when he was diagnosed with retinoblastoma -- an eye cancer.

Hennagir shaved the head of Centennial Toyota’s Mario Cano, a member of the dealership’s executive team, as part of a company-wide fundraiser to benefit Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.

Like a lot of little boys, little Aiden has his superheroes.

He doesn't realize, he's pretty super himself.

Days before Christmas, Aiden was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, rare in children, especially at Aiden's age.

“We thought he had stigmatism, he'd need corrective lenses,” said his father Frankie Hennagir.

Reports say scientists don't know what causes retina cells in the eye to turn into cancer cells but doctors said to Aiden's family, surgery to remove his eye and several rounds of chemo must be immediate.

It's been an emotional journey. Aiden doesn't seem to mind. In fact, the serious situation is cool, in his words

“I had a doctor who painted my fake eye,” he said.

He is a happy grateful 4-year-old who is now in remission and is thinking about the future.

"I want to be a trashman and doctor," Aiden says.

All money generated will benefit local children and families battling cancer.

Centennial Toyota encourages the public to take part in the event by donating bone marrow or getting their car washed or head shaved to support children with cancer.
