LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified the man killed early Saturday during what has been described as a road rage incident in the northwest part of the valley.

Las Vegas resident Christopher Dodge, 28, was officially identified by a medical examiner on Sunday.

News 3 reached a man who said he was the victim's father by phone on Sunday, but he declined to comment.

Two suspects involved in the homicide are sought by Metro police.

The stabbing was the 67th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction for 2014. There have been 34 arrests in the 67 cases.

At 12:33 a.m. Saturday, Metro officers were dispatched to the area of Racel Street and Forrest Fire in the northwest part of the valley to investigate a report of a man down in the street near that intersection. Arriving patrol officers contacted medical personnel already on scene, who had located an adult male dead in the roadway from apparent stab wounds.

The preliminary investigation initiated by the Homicide Section indicated the victim had been driving eastbound on Racel Street when he encountered another vehicle stopped in the travel lanes. The victim exited his vehicle and a verbal altercation ensued between the victim and an adult male standing outside of the stopped vehicle. The verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight, at the end of which the victim was left unresponsive by the side of the road and the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle.

As of Saturday afternoon, no suspects have been identified. The suspect can only be described as a light complexioned, black male adult in his 20s, standing about 5-foot-7. He was last seen wearing a multi-colored shirt and blue jeans. The suspect's vehicle is described as an unknown make white sedan driven by a black female adult who appeared to be in her 20s.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with any information about this crime is urged to call the Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at (702) 385-5555, or at
