Body recovered near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave

BOULDER CITY – A body was recovered Sunday near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave, an area in which a man went missing Aug. 16.

According to a news release, the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a call around 1 p.m. Sunday from a visitor reporting a body was seen floating near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. Rangers responded and recovered the body of an adult male.

A 31-year-old Southern California man was reported missing near this area after jumping off a boat without a life jacket on Aug. 16. The National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife have been searching for the victim since the incident occurred.

The Clark County coroner's office will confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause of death. The incident is under investigation.
