LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Arguments in the appeal of Nevada’s ban on same-sex marriage are scheduled for next month in a federal appellate court.

The 9th circuit court of appeals set Wednesday, April 9 as the date for oral arguments in the case of Sevcik v. Sandoval.

Attorneys from Lambda legal defense and education fund say the silver state’s voter-approved definition of marriage as between one man and one woman is unconstitutional.

The governor and the attorney general have pulled their support for the amendment.

Lawyers for the coalition for the protection of marriage have taken up defense of the law.

Arguments will be heard in San Francisco.
