LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- A dog perished in a $20,000 single-family home fire on Saturday evening.
At 6:24 p.m. the Clark County Fire Department responded to a smoke investigation that was reported to be in the Sloan Channel.
The engine crew discovered the source to actually be a residence at 1537 Lady Bryan Lane.
The response was upgraded for a structure fire which included six engine companies, a ladder truck, a rescue unit, two battalion chiefs and two fire investigators. A total of 29 firefighters responded.
The fire was contained to the kitchen but there was heavy smoke damage throughout the residence. A primary life search was performed and two dogs were discovered. One of the dogs was deceased and the other dog was breathing and received treatment from firefighters.
The rescued dog was acting normally when the owners arrived on scene and took possession of it.
There were no humans injured as a result.
Damage estimates are $20,000 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the Clark County Fire Department reported.
