Double fatal: Police seek help finding dark Nissan

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- Metro is seeking the public's help today in locating a dark-colored Nissan sedan that hit and killed two Georgia residents Friday night near the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino.

Shortly after 10 p.m. the double-fatal hit-and-run occurred on S. Valley View Boulevard north of W. Flamingo Road. The Nissan was traveling southbound when it struck two pedestrians who were not in a crosswalk as they attempted to cross Valley View from east to west.

The driver failed to stop and fled the scene.

Metro Sgt. Richard Strader said the Nissan is likely to have some front-end damage from the accident.

The people died at the scene. Both are unnamed as of yet, but the Metro accident report lists one as a 74-year-old woman and the other as a 71-year-old man. Both are from Kennesaw, Ga.

The deaths are the 48th and 49th traffic fatalities in Metro's jurisdiction this year.

Metro is continuiunbg to investigate the accident.

The Clark County coroner's office will identify the two victims as well as their official cause of death after relatives have been notified.
