LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- One man has died and another is in serious condition in separate heat-related incidents late this afternoon.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue staffers responded to two heat-related calls after 2:30 p.m.

Paramedics responded to a Las Vegas residence which had no air conditioning for a person in cardiac arrest. When paramedics arrived they found the man was dead. He did have medical issues, but they also felt it was aggravated by the heat. The Clark County coroner will have to make an official determination.

In the other incident, an elderly man was driving a car on a long trip when his air conditioner went out for a few hours. He started to fell sick and stopped to call 911. Paramedics said he was suffering from heat stroke and was taken to the hospital.

The high temperature at McCarran International Airport reach 114 degrees this afternoon. The record for June 29 is 115 degrees set in 1994. Friday's high reached 115 degrees.

Sunday's high is forecast for 117 degrees. Temperatures should drop a few degrees after Monday, forecasters say.
