Fashion Show reveals plans for redevelopment, expansion

LAS VEGAS – Fashion Show, the largest retail destination on the Las Vegas Strip, on Friday announced plans for an extensive redevelopment and expansion of the mall’s exterior plaza along Las Vegas Boulevard.

The project creates an exciting, new “front door” to the center, while enhancing the customer experience along one of the world’s most famous thoroughfares.

The current open plaza design will be transformed into a walking pathway, framed by dining terraces, small free-standing shops, and seating areas.

The redevelopment will include a 22,000-square-foot expansion, adding five additional restaurant spaces: three full service restaurants with outdoor dining terraces facing Las Vegas Boulevard and two bistro-sized venues with outdoor patios.

Six unique free-standing retail “Cabanas” will be added, along with a new lush landscape re-design that will include shade trees and an exterior passenger elevator at the main parking level. Located above these new additions will be an iconic “Cloud Bar,” complete with an oval roof floating above curving glass walls.

The project is scheduled to be completed by winter 2015.

As part of the redevelopment, Zara, one of the largest international fashion companies and one of Fashion Show’s first-to-market brands, will nearly triple in size, expanding its footprint to 30,000 square feet. Zara will span two levels and double its existing women’s and men’s departments. Zara's Fashion Show location also will add a 3,300-square-foot children’s department – a new addition for the Las Vegas flagship boutique. The expansion will serve as one of the top five largest locations in the U.S. in the company portfolio and will introduce the newest design prototypes.

Fashion Show encompasses 2 million square feet of retail space, including seven department stores: Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Macy’s Men’s, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, and Forever 21, and 250 boutiques and restaurants.
