LAS VEGAS -- The Southern Nevada Cannabis Operation and Regional Enforcement (SCORE) team and the LVMPD SWAT Team served narcotics search warrants at four suspected marijuana grow houses in the Las Vegas valley from January 23-28.
On January 23 at approximately 10 p.m., a warrant was served at a residence on the 10000 block of Tawny Buck Court. Detectives seized 468 marijuana plants and 56 pounds of marijuana ready for sale. Dectectives arrested California resident Rudy Rivera, 34.
On January 24 at approximately 8:30 a.m., a warrant was served at a residence on the 8000 block of Wards Ferry Street. Detectives seized 425 marijuana plants, 24 ounces of marijuana ready for sale, and found a five-foot alligator.
Also on January 24 at 8:36 a.m., a warrant was served at a residence on the 3700 block of Lily Haven Avenue. Detectives seized 758 marijuana plants and 4.3 pounds of marijuana ready for sale.
On January 28 at 2:44 p.m., a warrant was served at a residence on the 500 block of Mossy Bark Court. Detectives seized 613 marijuana plant and one firearm. California resident Joseph Ramirez, 27, was arrested at this residence.
All four of these residences were rental properties and are connected with the two suspects arrested. This investigation is ongoing and SCORE Team detectives are coordinating with California authorities.
Rivera was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana, and trafficking marijuana.
Ramirez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana, trafficking marijuana, conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, and possession of a firearm by prohibited person.
A total of 2,264 marijuana plants were seized, which have an estimated street value of $5.6 million. A total of 61.8 pounds of ready-to-sell marijuana was seized with an estimated street value of $198,000.
There have been a total of ten marijuana grow houses dismantled by the SCORE Team to date in 2014. In 2013, a total of 111 grow houses were discovered and dismantled, 3,128 pounds of marijuana seized, 12,592 marijuana plants seized, and 81 firearms recovered.
SCORE is a HIDTA funded task force. SCORE is comprised of representatives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Henderson Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
