Henderson assistant city manager arrested on DUI suspicion

HENDERSON, Nev. -- Henderson Assistant City Manager Fred Horvath has been placed on leave by the city manager pending the results of a DUI investigation, according to Henderson Public Information Officer Bud Cranor.

News 3 has confirmed the 58-year-old Horvath was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday around 3 p.m.

Horvath was named assistant city manager in October 2013. He is responsible for the city’s Community Development and Services, Information Technology, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Utility Services departments. Before his appointment, Horvath was the city's human resources director from 2009 to 2013.

Here is the official statement regarding Horvath from the City of Henderson:

"Assistant City Manager Fred Horvath was taken into custody today on suspicion of driving under the influence. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation."
