HENDERSON (KSNV MyNews3.com) – One of two people killed Thursday in a three-vehicle accident at U.S. 95 and Auto Show Drive has been identified as a Henderson resident.
Ryan Muraoto, 34, was in a Chevy van traveling eastbound on Auto Show Drive when it was hit about noon by a semi hauling two trailers as it exited northbound 95. Muraoto's exact cause of death has not been determined.
The other occupant of the van died, but has not been identified.
The semi collided with the Chevy van and a Jeep Laredo, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
NHP said the Jeep Laredo collided with one of the trailers being pulled by the semi. The momentum from the crash between the Jeep and the trailer carried the Jeep and the trailer onto the northbound U.S. 95 on ramp and part of the trailer smashed through a wall on the side of the on ramp and was partially hanging over the side of the ramp.
The semi driver and the driver of the Chevy van were transported to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Jeep was crushed under the trailer.
The semi and jeep drivers were treated and released from Saint Rose Dominican Hospital.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said the call came in just after noon. A Jeep was underneath a semitractor-trailer on the on-ramp of Auto Show Drive onto northbound U.S. 95.
The accident remains under investigation.
