LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- In a few months, Clark County residents may have to pay more for many of the things we buy in higher sales taxes from the plan sold to voters with the title 'more cops.’ But will it live up to that two word promise?

Whats in a name?

Well with the more cops bill, maybe not much.

The only two guarantees immediately are taxes will be raised and we will not get a significant amount of new police officers.

That fact has some commissioners raising questions.

“We’re going to be behind again a year from now,” said Commissioner Steve Sisolak.

The questions kept coming and so did the answer. An hours-long back and forth about a bill designed to put more uniformed officers on the street

The bill would raise sales tax an additional .15 percent. But if he gets the money, does the sheriff have to spend it on new officers?
