Honor Flight still fresh on minds of WWII Vets this Memorial Day

LAS VEGAS (KSNV & MyNews3) -- Tonight, on this Memorial Day, News 3 has highlights a recent trip as veterans from southern Nevada to flew to Washington, D.C. on the first-ever honor flight from Las Vegas.

A few weeks ago, News 3 Anchor Jessica Moore had the privilege of traveling with 35 World War II veterans from southern Nevada to Washington, D.C. on the first-ever honor flight from Las Vegas.

These were the Marines on the shores of Iwo Jima. The navy nurses who rushed to care for the airmen wounded in battle.

Jessica watched as these brave men and women visited for the very first time, the memorials built in their honor. Tonight, on this memorial day, News 3 wanted to bring viewers the highlights of what can only be described as a trip of a lifetime.
