South Williamsport, PA ( - Takuma Takahashi homered and struck out 11 in a three-hit shutout to lead Japan to a 5-0 victory over Las Vegas in the Little League World Series consolation game.

Takahashi didn't walk a batter and also chipped in at the plate with a 2-for-3 effort.

Kengo Tomita got Japan on the board with a run-scoring single in the second inning. Takahashi started the fourth with a home run to right field and Ren Takeuchi followed with a line drive over the left-field fence to make it 3-0.

A two-run double by Keisuke Hirano capped the scoring.

Takahashi yielded one-out singles in the first and second innings, but neither runner advanced. Alex Barker started the third with a base hit, but Japan turned a double play to end any thought of a threat.

Las Vegas had scored 38 runs in its first four games of the tournament.
