Lake Mohave drowning victim identified as California man

LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The Clark County coroner's office has identified a Lake Mohave drowning victim whose body was recovered last Sunday.

The victim was identified as Alahambra, Calif., resident Paul Nguyen, 31. The death was ruled an accidental drowning.

Around 1 p.m. Sunday, the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a call from a visitor reporting a body seen floating near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. Rangers responded and recovered the body of an adult male.

A 31-year-old Southern California man was reported missing near this area after jumping off a boat without a life jacket Aug. 16.

The National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife have been searching for the victim since the incident occurred.
