LAS VEGAS (KSNV -- The lone occupant of a mobile home may have suffered some smoke inhalation but refused treatment Sunday in a fire that caused $40,000 in damage.

The fire was reported at 3:43 p.m. in a mobile home in the 3400 block of N. Walnut St., near Las Vegas Boulevard North and East Cheyenne Road.

"The man might have had some smoke inhalation, but he refused treatment," Clark County Fire Department Chief John Steinbeck said. "The fire was 50 percent involved when we got there and the roof had partially collapsed, which is typical for single-wide mobile homes. The damage was about $40,000 and the cause if under investigation."

Steinbeck said 31 firefighters fought the fire and had it knocked down at 4:01 p.m.
