Baltimore, MD ( - Seattle Mariners outfielder/designated hitter Corey Hart has landed on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season, with the team announcing that the struggling veteran is dealing with a bruised right knee.

The move opens up a roster spot for young pitcher James Paxton to be activated from the 60-day DL and start Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Hart missed more than six weeks with a strained left hamstring before returning to action on July 4, but has hit just .191 with no home runs and three RBI in 68 at-bats since coming back.

The 32-year-old owns only a .203 average with five homers and 20 RBI in 58 games during his first season in Seattle. Hart signed a one-year deal with the Mariners in December after sitting out the entire 2013 campaign recovering from knee surgery.

Paxton was sent to the DL in April with a strained lat muscle and then had his return delayed by shoulder soreness. The rookie had won both of his first two starts of the season prior to being sidelined.

Additionally, pitcher Blake Beaven was outrighted off the 40-man roster as a result of Paxton's reinstatement.
